Hello from here: Slowly leaving 2024 behind and starting into a new calendar year. I want to take a moment to reflect on the last and the upcoming year. While the world has been (and is) certainly seeing its share of ups and downs, I want to focus on the bright parts for a moment — and, most importantly, express my gratitude.

Exhibitions and Projects 
I had the chance to exhibit some of my favorite self-portraits in wintery Munich at Galerie Seufert and showcase my Adobe Creative Residency project “Beauty of Age” in Berlin at re:publica. 

Teaching, Workshops and Talks
Another amazing part of the year was teaching. I hosted a workshop and lecture by the Black Sea in Bulgaria for MadePro 🎤, led several workshops on the Baltic coast during Horizonte Zingst, and gave a talk about photography to students for Teech. 

Music Artwork
I had the utmost joy creating two more music artworks this year—both unpublished yet 🤫. I will show them in upcoming newsletters!

Media and Awards 
I was honoured to be part of this documentary about self-portraits on 3Sat, and to be published in Elle Germany and Kinfolk magazine. Winning 1st place in the reFocus Color Award and receiving an honorable mention in the World Photo Annual Award were sweet unexpected highlights. 

Adventures and Memories 
While being aware that calling the above things "work" is an outrageous privilege, two personal highlights fall more into the "holiday" category: a magical trip to Marseille with my Sony Creators family 📷 and a two-week road trip through rural Albania. 

Don’t be fooled though. My year also contained a lot of doubts and obstacles, it just takes so much more courage to share that openly. I might do that in a newsletter-post later this year.

Am I manifesting more music artworks and workshops in 2025? Absolutely! So if you know any of musicians who might want to get creative, or of places that organise workshops, please send them my way 🙏🏻

On other notes I am moving (back) to Germany in 2025 — the Alps are calling and I am finally listening 🏔️. Who of you is living in the south of Germany?

Also if you happen to be close to Zurich in February, come say Hi: I will be exhibiting new and reedited work at PhotoSchweiz from 8th to 11th of February. I will also teach a Seminar, a Workshop and a Masterclass there. It would be an honour to see some of you there!

The details are not set yet, but I will be teaching some workshops at Horizonte Zingst at the end of May again this year. I can’t wait to learn, teach, sit by the seaside, and watch the stars.
